Berklee Tuition Refund Appeal

Tuition refund appeals are considered only for students that fully withdraw from the semester. Refunds are not given for individual course withdrawals, or for non-withdrawn classes. For more information on Berkleeā€™s tuition refund policy, please review the Policy Handbook for Students.


Your appeal for tuition refund will be considered only if you have successfully completed the following form.

Documentation Upload
Documentation is required for all appeals. Failure to provide acceptable documentation will result in an automatic denial. Please save all supporting documentation to one PDF file. By uploading documentation to this form, you authorize full release to the committee members for appeal review and consideration.

Examples of Extenuating Circumstances

Examples of Supporting Documentation

A student's physical, mental, or emotional illness, injury, or disability.

Documentation from a medical provider, or a personal statement if medical documentation is not immediately available.

Loss of a family member or close significant person in a student's life.

A copy of an obituary or death certificate and a personal statement.

Illness, accident, or injury of a family member or significant person in a student's life.

Documentation (for instance, a letter from a medical practitioner, a police statement, hospital documents) related to the individual, and a statement from the student about how this incident impacted their studies.

Natural disaster

A personal statement and written documentation of the event (a news article, insurance paperwork, police statement, etc.).

None of the above

A personal statement detailing why you feel that continued enrollment and aid eligibility should be considered for your situation.

  • I acknowledge that Berklee does not directly provide tuition insurance and I have been advised to consider purchasing GradGuard's tuition insurance plan to protect future semesters' tuition. Eligible students may purchase this plan up until the day before classes officially begin.
  • I acknowledge that my form submission and all relevant student account information will be reviewed and considered by a committee of college officials, who reserve the right to approve or deny my appeal.
  • I understand that the decisions and recommendations of the Enrollment Appeals Committee are final and cannot be appealed further.
  • I understand if no documentation is provided, my appeal will be automatically denied.
